The original chicken curry cooked in onions, garlic, ginger, yogurt, and spices.


Ingredients
2 lb chickenClick to find more about chicken pieces (I used boneless thighs, but you can use bone-in pieces or even chickenClick to find more about chicken breast chunks)
1 large onionClick to find more about onion, chopped roughly
4 cloves garlicClick to find more about garlic
2 tsp grated fresh gingerClick to find more about ginger
1/4 Cup fresh mintClick to find more about mint leaves or cilantro, plus extra for garnish
1-1/2 Tblsp oil
1 tsp turmericClick to find more about turmeric
1-1/2 tsp garam masala
Pinch of cayenne (optional)
1-1/2 tsp saltClick to find more about salt
1/2 Cup yogurt
1 15-oz can diced tomatoes, drained


Preparation
In a food processor or blender, grind the onionClick to find more about onion, garlicClick to find more about garlic, gingerClick to find more about ginger, mintClick to find more about mint or cilantro, and oil together into a paste.
Heat a heavy deep skillet and cook this mixture, stirring, for about 5 minutes. Add the turmericClick to find more about turmeric, garam masala, cayenne(red chili), and saltClick to find more about salt and cook for another minute.
Stir in the yogurt and tomatoes and cook until the mixture is a thick puree. Then stir in the chickenClick to find more about chicken pieces, coat them with the spice mixture, and simmer on low, covered, until the chickenClick to find more about chicken is tender. Garnish with additional mintClick to find more about mint or cilantro and serve with rice or naan.

I am a bit confused how can we use either mint or cilantro both herbs have a very different flavor so which one would be better please tell me thanks
