Our skin is made up of connective tissue which makes the skin appear soft and supple. As we grow old, this soft connective tissue loses its elasticity and becomes hard, rough and dry. To soothe the skin, water based products can only be used temporarily. However, using coconut oil for dry skin problems has been one of the oldest home remedies. Dietary coconut oil has the capacity to reduce the skin’s need for vitamin E. Coconut oil for skin acts as an antioxidant and eliminates free radicals which are cancerous. The fatty acids in coconut oil act as natural antiseptics. Coconut oil not only prevents bacterial and viral infections upon topical application but also upon ingestion. With millions of microbes and germs residing on our skins, the chances of getting infected are great. Regular use of coconut oil prevents these microbes from transmitting infections. When a thick layer of coconut oil is applied on the skin, the microbes try to digest it. However, they turn the oil into a fatty acid that clings to the skin and forms a protective layer, not allowing the microbes to break the skin or burrow inside. Though coconut oil does not have any inherent anti-microbial effects, it still helps in preventing infections caused due to microbial attacks. It has been advised that soaps should not be used on the face. The harsh chemicals wash off the protective layer of free fatty acids and expose the skin. Though applying a moisturizer makes the skin feel temporarily soft, it by no means reinstates the layer of free fatty acids that was protecting the facial skin from antigens. When the skin is exposed in this manner, acne can begin to develop. Using coconut oil for face can counter this problem. A lot of people also use coconut oil for acne. Infections can be prevented on applying coconut oil on skin and therefore breakouts can be contained if the acne is infectious. It has already been established that coconut oil has properties which safeguard the body from microbial attack. It is therefore recommended that this oil be used immediately after a bath to prevent your skin from painful infections cause by germs like staphylococci. |

Hi
Coconut Oil is every effective in the treatment of Acne. Let us find out what makes it so special for Acne.
Acne has been a really notorious and infamous problem through times, more so but not limited to, among teenagers, because it is they who suffer the most due to Acne. Although in most cases they disappear with age, but they give you a real bad time as long as they remain. Sometimes you get rid of them without having to spend a single penny (those very lucky ones) and sometimes you spend a fortune in their treatment and end up with nothing fruitful. Worse, if they go and leave some ugly spots all over your face! What if I suggest try using coconut oil in Acne? You might be wondering that when everybody else is advising you to keep away from oils and oily food in Acne, why the hell I am suggesting using it.
Thanks
Have a nice time ahead |

Most commonly available creams and lotions are mostly water. Their moisture is quickly absorbed into dry, wrinkled skin. As the water enters the skin, it expands the tissues, like filling a balloon with water, so that wrinkles fade away and the skin feels smoother. But this is only temporary. As soon as the water evaporates or is carried away by the blood stream, the dry, wrinkled skin returns. No matter how hard you try people will never be able to permanently cure dry, wrinkled skin with any commercial body lotion or body care products. Besides the water, most lotions have an oil of some type. This oil is almost always a highly refined vegetable oil devoid of all natural protective antioxidants. One product in our food supply and in body care products that leads to a great deal of free radicals is oxidized vegetable oils.
Our skin is made up of connective tissues. These tissues give our skin strength and elasticity. When we are young and healthy the skin is smooth, elastic and supple. This is the effect of strong connective fibers. As we age these fibers are repeatedly subjected to free-radical attack which breaks them down. As a result, connective tissues become hardened and lose both suppleness and strength. The skin loses its ability to hold itself together and begins to sag and become wrinkled. Once young, soft and smooth the skin turns dry and leathery. |

Hello
Coconut oil is excellent massage oil for the skin as well. It acts as an effective moisturizer on all types of skins including dry skin. The benefit of coconut oil on the skin is comparable to that of mineral oil. Further, unlike mineral oil, there is no chance of having any adverse side effects on the skin with the application of coconut oil. Coconut oil therefore is a safe solution for preventing dryness and flaking of skin. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age.
